IMAT Medical Preparation

IMAT Medical Preparation

Prepare for the International Medical Admissions Test (IMAT) with our comprehensive syllabus designed for universities in Italy and across Europe.

Our IMAT preparation course covers Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Logical Reasoning, all taught strictly in English by expert faculty members.

Who this program is for

The IMAT is a demanding, time-pressured exam. This course assumes commitment, not prior perfection.

If you are still deciding between the medical pathway in Italy and a Russian-track medical foundation, our advisors will walk you through both before you commit. See also our Foundation Year (Padfak) program.

What the exam tests

The IMAT assesses scientific knowledge alongside reasoning under time pressure. We prepare you for both.

Biology

Cell biology and biochemistry, genetics and inheritance, the chemistry of living systems, human anatomy and physiology by system, reproduction, and the fundamentals of evolution and ecology.

Chemistry

Atomic structure and periodicity, bonding and molecular geometry, stoichiometry, solutions and concentration, acids and bases, redox and electrochemistry, thermodynamics, and foundational organic chemistry.

Physics

Measurement and units, kinematics and dynamics, work and energy, fluids, thermodynamics, electrostatics and current electricity, and the optics and waves topics that recur most often.

Mathematics

Algebraic manipulation, functions and graphs, exponentials and logarithms, geometry and trigonometry, and the probability and statistics needed for data-based questions.

Logical Reasoning & Problem Solving

Deductive and syllogistic reasoning, spatial and numerical puzzles, argument analysis, and the pattern-recognition techniques that turn slow questions into fast ones.

Reading & General Knowledge

Close reading of unfamiliar passages, inference and identifying unstated assumptions, and the broad general-knowledge base the section draws on.

How the course is taught

Content knowledge alone does not pass the IMAT. Exam technique is taught as its own discipline.

Full syllabus teaching

Every topic is taught from first principles in English, so you are never relying on translated notes or half-remembered school terminology.

Timing and triage

Structured drills in question selection, when to skip, and how to manage the clock across sections, so you are not losing marks you already know.

Full mock examinations

Regular timed mocks under exam conditions, followed by individual review of every incorrect answer to identify whether the cause was knowledge, misreading, or time.

Progress tracking

Section-by-section scoring across mocks so weak areas are visible early and teaching time is redirected to where it changes your score.

Small-group tuition

Class sizes kept small enough that teachers can address individual errors rather than lecturing to the room.

Between-class support

A channel to ask questions when you are stuck mid-week, so a single misunderstanding does not cost you a topic.

Common questions

Do I need to already be fluent in English?

You need working English, not fluency. The exam is in English and so is every class, so we assess your level before enrolment. If language is the limiting factor, we will usually recommend starting with Academic English & IELTS first, or running it alongside.

What if I have already taken the IMAT once?

That is common and it is an advantage. We start by reviewing your section scores to find where the marks were actually lost, then build a plan around that rather than repeating material you have already mastered.

Can I take this course while still at school?

Yes. Many students do. Speak to an advisor about scheduling so the workload is realistic alongside your school commitments.

Does completing this course guarantee admission?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who tells you otherwise. Admission depends on your exam score, the number of places available, and the competition in your application cycle. What we commit to is thorough preparation and honest feedback about where you stand.

Ready to take the next step?

Speak with an academic advisor about your background and goals. We will tell you honestly whether this program is the right fit for you.
